The Long and Winding Road...
Hope the Beatles don't mind me stealing their song title but it fits the day. We weaved our way out of Edinburgh to make our way to Inverness via Pitlochry and Newtonmore. Although the day started out foggy and dreary we soon found glorious sunshine. It was perfect weather for seeing the scenery.
We stopped for a wee bit o lunch in Pitlochry and a stroll through town, then back on the road. Not far from Pictlochry was the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore. An open air museum/park set in the hills that depicts rural farming lives from the 11 hundreds through the 1950's. We had two hours and it wasn't enough. We spent most of the time in the older "turf dwellings" learning how early Scotts built their homes and village. It's a beautiful area and interesting museum.
We moved on to Inverness to get settled for the night. This B&B gave us a real challenge to locate but all was well in the end. However, it was in our B&B that we found another celebrity in the breakfast room.
I want a picture of you behind the wheel of the next car you drive there. I just think it would be nice.
